What’s new and why should I upgrade?
Lots of things! The major changes for Release 4.04 are:
* Full compatibility with the year 2000
* Hotkey printing of documents for individual customer accounts
* Unlimited customer notes, which can be printed on route sheets as
permanent and temporary notes
* More detailed screen listing of service history, with scrolling feature
* Easier-to-use directory search screen to find a customer account
* Customer phone numbers can be dialed through the computer’s modem
* Individual customer notes can be logged, reviewed and printed on
route sheets
* More support for laser/inkjet printers and postcards formats
* Florida Sales tax reporting data is compiled for your review
* Invoices/ bills can be printed on 8 x 11" plain paper and other types
of forms including preprinted form or letterhead
* As with any Bugpak version, you enter the information once. No
double entry needed!
The Year 2000
There has been a lot of attention paid in the popular press to the problems
we will have when the year 2000 arrives. Computerwise, we have been entering
only two-digit years (96, 97, 98, etc.) But when we roll over to “00" the
machines will get confused. In BUGPAK release 4.0 to 4.04, the problem
is solved by carrying all dates as full 4-digit years. All you have to
do is type “10011997", and the computer takes care of the rest.
Customer Accounts
The Customer Search Screen has a new format and operates in a
new way. When started up, the screen will be filled, in alphabetical order,
with directory entries. The Service History is presented on a full
line pop-up menu of print operations on customer account screen.
System Setup for printers
More print formats are available. Formats which BUGPAK makes use of
are “NEBS9660", “NEBS9661"”DESKJET”, and “POSTCARD”, Labels. The deskjet
setting is also used for laser printers. No need to set the printers provided
you installed appropriate printer drivers for your operating system.
NOTE: Bugpak Pest Control Software uses laser, dot-matrix and inkjet
printers. Though, please be aware that some brand of printers does not
work on dos environment or does not have the appropriate drivers. Please
consult your sales rep before buying a printer.
Requirement: INTERNET CONNECTION IS A MUST TO DOWNLOAD PATCHES. MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO USE THE INTERNET AND BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD FILES AND APPLY IT!
