Lookout - Object-based Automation Software
Lookout™ is an HMI/SCADA software package for use in industrial automation settings, an object-oriented system with functions such as PLC interfacing, data logging and more. It runs on 32-bit Windows NT/95/98 platform. Lookout tm drivers for Idec PLCs
To communicate between the Lookout software package and the Idec-Izumi line of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), a software driver (or Object) is required.
AIM has developed two such drivers for Lookout to interface with all Idec PLCs. All basic functions are supported, some restrictions apply, and some extensions have been made.
Aim (a systems integrator and National Instruments Alliance Program Member) and Panamtech (the Idec Representative for Florida and Puerto Rico) have many industrial applications up-and-running with each of the objects.
Licensing is on a per-Lookout- license basis. For each Lookout serial number employed (development, server, client, or runtime) you must purchase an Idec driver license from Aim.
Each license package contains one Idec FA-Series and one Idec Micro-Cube driver. One or the other or both can be used with one Lookout serial number. The manual for the drivers can be viewed and printed from our website
Pricing:
$350.00 per serialized license driver package to end users; keyed to the Lookout License Registration Number; you have thirty days to register with AIM. Site licensing and distributor pricing are available.Developers and Alliance members should contact AIM for their cost.
Compatibility:
Tested with Lookout Release 3.8.x. All Micro-1 and FA-Series controllers except the 5M are supported. Micro-Cube, Micro-Cube "C", and Open-Net are supported. Please see the manual for the specific data register types that are supported.
Modifications to the driver(s) are available on a fee basis.
Support:
Technical support is included for all Idec-PLC-object-
related issues ONLY! (Our first question will be whether
you have isolated a "situation" to our driver object.)
Aim is reachable by phone, fax, e-mail, and pager during
normal business hours (0800-1800ET Monday-Friday), and
extended hours are available on a contractual basis.
